nowBuzz up!Augusta, Georgia -- The Center provides childcare, faith based education, and bible studies. The center also mentors and tutors drop outs and homeless children.
Dr. Franklyn Beckles says the center offers an education that can't be found in public schools.
Rev. Dr. Franklyn Beckles, Jr.-"What we trying to do is take up the slack of what the public schools are not doing. And we're educating youth and giving them a positive message to them and that's by putting God in education. We're not allow to do that in public schools, but we can do that here. We wanting people to get involve to come and check us out to donate, their time, and effort. We'll take anything."

nowBuzz up! AUGUSTA, Ga. - An Augusta reverend and firefighter is doing his best to feed the homeless and serve his community from his Church.
Reverend Dr. Franklyn Beckles, Jr. opened his Church doors to the homeless Sunday.
Beckles already runs a day care, ministry and learning center out of his Church called the Children's Christian Center.
Now he's decided a soup kitchen is the next best way to help the Augusta community.
"They have to have a need and a wanting to participate in a Christian atmosphere. We give them food talk to them and we give them a little bit of the word, we pray with them," Beckles said.
He'll also feed the homeless from his Church November 29th. His Church and Private School is located at 3725 Old McDuffie Road.
